Commissions

A commissioned painting is a custom artwork created specifically for you, tailored to your vision and preferences. Whether it’s a portrait, a landscape, or a still life, a commission allows you to collaborate with the artist to bring a unique and meaningful piece to life. Unlike mass-produced art, a commissioned piece is one-of-a-kind, reflecting your personal story, style, or sentiment.

Why Commission a Painting

There are many reasons to commission a painting. It could be a timeless way to celebrate a loved one, capture a cherished memory, or enhance your space with artwork that perfectly matches your aesthetic. A custom painting makes for an unforgettable gift, whether for a wedding, anniversary, or milestone event. Beyond its personal value, commissioned art is also an investment—crafted with skill and intention, it holds lasting beauty and significance for generations to come.

How to Commission a Painting

Ordering a commissioned painting is simple. Start by reaching out through the contact form with details about your vision, including size, subject, and any specific preferences. After discussing the concept and confirming details, a deposit secures your place in the painting schedule. Throughout the process, updates will be provided to ensure the artwork aligns with your expectations. Once completed, the final piece will be carefully packaged and shipped or available for local pickup, ready to be displayed and treasured.

Testimonials

When I first saw one of Andrew’s plein air oil paintings, it took my breath away.
A lone tree in the marshland was all it depicted yet I found it powerfully evocative.
Andrew’s mastery of the medium was suggestive of an old world sensibility…the dramatic use of light and dark, the narrow, melancholic color palette, the brush strokes conveying movement in such a solid, sentient being.
It now hangs in my study, alongside its equally-stunning ‘sister’ painting ( the viewer is invited to look through the trees at the marsh edge to the perfect chiaroscuro of light reflected on dark, serene water ).
I feel honored to look at these beautiful paintings EVERY day….and thankful to the gentle, kind, considerate, extremely talented artist that is
.Andrew for entrusting them to my care.
this piece is commission called "wrath". There is a man bent down in a dark corner with a look of anger on his face. Which is covered by his arm that is hugging his knees. he is on the tips of his toes and is behind a stack of papers tossed all over the floor. There is a small flame on a candle stick almost at it's end in the middle of the papers.
